HAPPY BIRTHDAY KEN

NEVER FORGOTTEN, FOREVER LOVED
I have been reflecting over the past four years without you, my life has taken some very different roads and I guess will continue to do so.

Death is such a final event, one which continues to be hard to bear.

Today would have been your 58th birthday and if you were here we would have celebrated with the family. Your daughter is becoming a beautiful person in her own right, her children (your grandchildren) are unique little human beings who bring alot of happiness to us all.I know you are around us and witness their ups and downs.

I am now working ,this fills the void in my life,I am also trying to learn ballroom dancing, but over the years I seem to have acquire two left feet, but I shall win ,I may never be a competition dancer but will be able to hold my own on the dance floor.

The winter is slowly enveloping us, it is time for the fire in the evening and warm tasty home cooked meals in front of it.

I count my blessings every day that you were part of my life, we shared many good times and some not so good , but together we made it thru.

I feel so alone without you beside me,everyone else has someone to share their life story with.
Why did you have to leave? We still had so many dreams to fulfill.
All of you who have a partner cherish them, remember one day they may not be there.

Happy Birthday forever my guy.

Holidays,Family,Time For Reflection

Happy Easter

Another Easter break has nearly passed,it was just yesterday when I waas hiding the eggs in my next door neighbours yard for the very exciting egg hunt. This year we kept the egg hunt inside, due mainly to the presence of four little canines. My family have had a lovely visit and my grandchildren are growing fast. They are so full of the wonders of life, they keep their great grandparents entertained with their antics. I gave their parents the night off and sent them to the pictures, they saw Wild Hogs, which gave them a good laugh. Tomorrow I am spending the morning teaching my granddaughter how to gain confidence on her two wheeler (bike) I have told her she is now to old for training wheels. My grandson left his bike at home, he knows what Grandma is like, what he hasnt realised is that he will aslo be learning albeit on his sisters bike. I will post some pics of my success,I know they both can achieve it, they just dont know it yet.
I hope you have all celebrated this Easter break as happily as I am.
I hope blogger lets me post some pics, here goes.

Happy Days

Life is good.
The last few weeks have seen a baby born, friends turning eighty, poppy getting the all clear from his gastrologist and me passing another assignment.
Hearing from some old and dear friends, making acquaintenances.
A baby boy 7lb born to our neighbours daughter, mother and child both well after a minor hiccup with jaundice. Nanny over the moon.
A very dear friend from my childhood days turned eighty and is still very fit and active.
Poppy underwent an endoscopy and colonoscopy and has the all clear.
I have started walking the river track again ,I do the full circuit and poppy does a half circuit at his pace, we are both enjoying it and thats what it is all about.
I have passed another one of those assignments only 20 to go.
I took mum and dad off to a beautiful winery last Saturday, its was a charity event for our childrens hospital in Queensland,it was Priscilla in the vineyard theme, we had a lovely three course dinner and then we laughed and laughed at the main entertainer. The actor (who was the drag queen) was very talented and had the audience in the palm of his hand, then we were treated to a magician(very clever) after numerous raffles and auctions we were entertained by a 20 piece big band, mum and dad were tired by this time so it was in the car for the 3/4 hr trip home.
I have blogged some pics for you, the first is a tired mum and baby just born. the second the front page of the programme,
the third is mum and dad having dinner the fourth is the river we walk around.
I thank you all for visiting me and hope your life is fun and you are enjoying your life journey(we only get one chance so enjoy the present time)
I am so sorry but blogger is refusing to publish pictures will try on another post

Once A Week

Today is another Tuesday in this beautiful world.
I will do my best to place a post every Tuesday, it is a day when I have attended my course and am so full of information I need to unwind, I think posting is a brilliant way of doing this.
Last Thursday I drove down to the Goldcoast (160 klms )and picked up my friend who lost her husband 12mnths ago, I stayed the night and then fixed some sun blinds to her bathroom windows the next morning before heading back home to Warwick. We have a great time and laugh alot, she is finishing the frogs whilst I go to my course.I will take some pics and show you all the finished mural.
It is good therapy for her, being up here with us all.
Poppy got an excellent report from his oncologist, but I am noticing a decline in his health,it is not good, but he is still trying to get on top of it.
Mum has also been a bit off colour,I am not sure what her problem is, she is tired alot.I hope its only because she was given a big stack of books and she is an avid reader ( you cannot get her away from a good book)The gypsy is back on the road heading for Nth Qld, he texts me just to let me know he is ok.
I have decided to go on and am enjoying the things I am doing and where I am at in my life.
I am heading back to the Goldcoast this Thursday, to drop Pam off and then driving on to Lismore another few hrs away with my neighbour Di, we are babysitting her grandchildren for two days, then back home Sunday.
Who said life is dull, they should come visit for awhile.
I neglected to tell you we took Pam to a few of the wineries not far from here, she loved it,we also visited the local lavender farm.I forgot the camera, sorry.
Well my many friends I will endeavour to visit you over the next few days.
Keep smiling its contagious.
Bye for this week

A Family W/end(Bellas birthday)

Its Sunday evening and I have remade beds tidied the house, oeganised tea for my parents and spent time on the phone reassurring my father-in-law(who has had two bouts of angina, which can be scary)

My beautiful Isabella Rose turned 7 today,it seems only yesterday that we were celebrating the birth of my beautiful grandaughter.

My family joined us in Warwick to celebrate and I did my best to make it special for her and her great grandparents (these occasions are their gift in life as well)

I have blogged some pics so you can join our fun times as a family.

We spent Saturday at home, after I picked up my new second hand holden,I traded the Ford in,a sedan will be better for me now.

I had invited my neighbours and the gypsy for a barbeque tea, which was lots of fun, everyone appeared to enjoy themselves.

Isabella or bella to me got such fun gifts, all given with so much love, her face was so alive and full of joy.

Sunday we had morning tea and another cake, before setting off to one of my special places, the Japanese gardens in Toowoomba.Which is 40mins drive from here.Bella said to me "This is so beautiful grandma' it made my heart sing to know she could see the beauty and serenity,at such a young age.

Then it was off to maccas(Mcdonalds) for lunch, this was a new experience for the great grandparents, but they really enjoyed it as well.

After time out for Bella and Harry (my special grandson) my family hit the road for their three hour trip home.

It was a family w/end one to remember Isabellas 7th Birthday.I hope your week is as happy a mine is going to be.

My Life, The gypsy and The Barn.

I have just returned from five days retreat
at a dear friends home on our beautiful Gold coast.
I needed to take some time out from my life here in Warwick.
I have a dear friend whom I met nearly three years ago,
we have what you would call a very on /off relationship.
He travels this beautiful country in his motorhome,
and works when its necessary, to enable him to roam on.
The one hitch, I fell for him, hook line and sinker.
My timing is wrong and he isnt ready for a commitment,
so we both choose to antagonise the other,
which gives us the excuse to walk away without feeling guilty.
Oh what a position to be in. Thankfully we are mature enough
to work through these times and just make the most of any time we get.
There is an old verse that goes; if you love someone,
let them go and if they return its meant to be, or something like that.
I have let him go.
.
.
Now to the barn, I have hopefully placed some pics
for you to see of the old barn transformed.
I still have the courtyard to finish between the two rooms.
.
.
I have to go back to work now as that old money tree refuses to give me any more.
I have started a course so I can hopefully get back into the work force.
It's funny going to class at 56 with all the other students so much younger.....
but it is also fun. My first assignment is due in a week, so please, wish me luck.
.
.
.
My beautiful parents celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary
on Valentines day, as a gift I gave them air tickets to Adelaide (where they honeymooned)
and then on to Perth (WA) so they can catch up with some old and dear friends.
I hope to stay in touch... the pics are of the gypsy.... and of the barn.
.
.
